Fed up with the dull-lifeless-unchanging-backgrounds? Or wondered what really happens when your background image changes every 15-30 minutes (suggestive) ? Want the images of your choice in the slideshow? Then this is the post for you!

Some simple steps to get it working :

1. Download/select pictures of your choice to the apt resolution (eg : 1920  x 1200)

2. Put them together in the same folder, say ‘mine’. ( I have selected 10 such images within it)

3. Make an xml file that runs as follows :

(Note : all the *.jpg files are those which have been selected, in the place of mine/*.jpg you may use <yourfoldername/imagefilename>)

4. Save the file as ‘background-1.xml’ within ‘mine’

5. Move the folder ‘mine’ into \usr\share\backgrounds

6. Drag the xml file into the background select portion of  ‘Appearance Preferences

7. Select it and Eureka!!

Play with your computer to make it alive..! :)

PS : You may download the above xml file and make the necessary changes :- http://filebin.ca/tumkro/background-1.xml
